I want to start by saying the food was great and the workers preparing it were good. The older woman at the register however was completely out of it. She seemed like she wasn't fully there. She added a donation without asking and kept wandering around looking lost. I heard the other employees get on her multiple times. She was also going around "cleaning" but the place was gross. She only wiped the table surface. Not the chairs, not cleaning by the soda dispenser, not the floor. I haven't been here in a while and I'm pretty disappointed. Firehouse used to be one of my go to places when I lived over here.

I am not joking when I say they run this place so well. It was the busiest I’ve seen it and a crew I didn’t even recognize, yet they got me a quality sub in a totally reasonable fashion. Everyone that works there truly cares about the customer experience and I appreciate them. They also just objectively have the best meatball sub when it comes to the chain sub restaurants in Madison. Maybe I’m biased since I love this place but sadly I’m #notsponsered so I’m telling the truth. Yum!

This place used to be a gem. No matter what time I come in, it feels dirty and poorly maintained. I constantly hear customers leaving frustrated, and unfortunately I understand why. I used to enjoy stopping here while working locally, but lately the wait times are extremely long and it’s rare to find a clean table. The original owner and staff created a welcoming atmosphere. I still remember hearing “Welcome to Firehouse Subs” every time I walked through the door, and the customer service reflected that pride. Unfortunately, that experience seems to be gone now. The soda machine is regularly out of ice or not stocked properly, and overall the restaurant just feels neglected. I know this place has the potential to be great again, but there definitely needs to be more attention to cleanliness, service, and the overall customer experience.

We came in towards the end of the night and the team was so friendly and efficient especially Christopher! We have gluten sensitivity and he made sure to ask us whether it was an allergy or sensitivity. We really appreciated that extra step.

This was our first time coming to a firehouse subs and right when we walked in we were greeted by assistant manager, Christopher, and he answered any questions we had and was helpful and overall friendly. The service was top notch and the food was even better!
