If you don't want to buy something bad and can't return it, then don't go to this store. We went shopping at Woodman's near the airport and bought a box of Asian pears on Tuesday .At first glance, they looked very delicious. But when we got home and were about to eat them, we found that the backs of three of them were all rotten. The price was $6.99. We thought that since we were going to pick up the flight at the airport on Friday, it would be a good time to return the item. However, on Friday, we forgot to return it at the store where we bought the pears near the airport. So we went to Woodman's on Gammon Road on our way back. But the clerk told us that it couldn't be returned because it wasn't bought in their store, even though we had the receipt and brought the items with us. But isn't Woodman's a chain store? Why can't we return it?

Very disappointed in today’s order. While choosing my substitutions and wanting to remove an item, the screen stopped responding and when I refreshed it I could no longer do either…they had started shopping already. Which when checking out around 10:15am I had chosen the noon-1pm slot and the app notified me at 11am the order was ready. Being close to a 1/2 hr away we left to pick up early. When we arrived the parking area near the pick up was so congested, no available spots so we parked another row over and my husband went to the doors to pick up. This often seems to be the case where we have to go to the doors. When we arrived home I found the vegetables I purchased were all bad. The onion was small and mushy, the red bell peppers were shriveling and the zucchini had cuts and a peel in the skin and was soft. I believe their shoppers pick produce by what’s about to go bad because I’ve had this happen before with fruit. So now I know. They did refund me for the items but doesn’t help to have to make another trip to the store because I couldn’t get fresh vegetables the first time. I just don’t believe their online ordering is well planned out and implemented.

6/10/26 Edit + update:It happened again for the 3 time I have witnessed on 6/10/26 midnight I couldn’t get 3 simple items at night because of self checkouts malfunction. Many people disappointed and left carts full of stuff. Many people come here beyond midnight after getting off work or doing something else where they are not able to come here earlier and rely on this store to buy groceries.At this point it feels like there is no point in being open after midnight if this continues to be a problem. On the positive note gas still works normally at night and noticed a change recently on the screen it is now a touchable screen and the brand has changed from NCR to INVENCO. Good job 👏 👍 Original review 5/20/26 (edited): I wasn’t planning on giving Woodmans review for the grocery side but I must now.I have previously left 4 reviews for the gas station locations on how the service is really good and how you have affordable gas prices and a great car wash system also at an affordable price. On to the grocery side:this location is conveniently located on the west side of Madison Wi.I am a frequent night time shopper at this location.A lot of employees know me really well especially the night shift employees (10pm-6am)team.Will start off with the basics,the store is really organized very well.The interior of the store,restrooms and outside parking lot are cleaned very well.you can find basically anything you need here like produce,fruit,frozen/cold meat,chicken,ice cream,hot dogs,cheese,milk,eggs,butter,juice,frozen breakfast.International foods,water,sugar,chips,snacks,pancake mix,food oil,coffee,candy,sugar drinks and much more food items. Other items you can find here is all kinds of soap,greeting cards,medicine,tooth products,color supplies,grill related items,pet food,cleaning supplies and much more. Heads up no credit cards are accepted here at the moment other than discover credit cards.Bring Debit for the best paying option.Self checkouts also no longer accep

Idk if anyone reads grocery store reviews on here but this is my go-to grocery. Employee owned so I feel more confident in their ethical standing and pay, and they’ve got a huge selection. Also wanted to shout out the ShopWoodmans pickup order crew— they’re doing great work and I really appreciate the time-saving. I messed up yesterday and forgot to pick up my order and I was able to call in and ask about it, and pick it up the next morning. I don’t recommend doing that (it’s impolite) but I was reassured that they would handle it well based on their track record, and that trust was well placed.

Anytime I make it to Madison, I always go to Woodman's. They have over double the selection in every category for food and drinks, then Walmart does. Their prices are lower on almost everything, compared to Walmart. The aisles are usually clean and clear and you can move through them swiftly, unless their stocking products in that aisle. One thing I do not like about Woodman's, is they charge you $.10 for every manufacturers coupon you use. Which I have never heard of before.
