Reviews from Google1.04 months agoI am writing to file a formal complaint about the service I received at Sett Pub in Union South on April 16th 2026 around 1:00 PM. I ordered two burgers and requested lettuce, tomato, and onion be added. When I received my order, these items were missing. I went back to request them, and they were given to me separately on a paper plate. However, the lettuce was not fresh and had mud on it. Mud!!! When I returned to ask for a replacement, the staff member wearing an orange shirt was visibly upset. She took one piece of wilted lettuce and threw it into the plate aggressively (there were originally three pieces). When I mentioned that I should have two pieces since we ordered two burgers, another staff member helped. At that point, the employee in orange asked “What happened?” in a clearly annoyed expression. After the situation was explained, she said nothing but appeared very unhappy. I was also very unhappy with this experience. As a paying customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism. If a staff member is having a bad day and doesn’t want to work, they should not take it out on customers. Consumers should not have to pay money to be treated poorly. I hope this matter will be addressed appropriately.
1.04 months agoI had my fair share of the sett in my student days, never had this kind of service. Ordered two burgers with lettuce and tomatoes, got the food, no lettuce nor tomatoes, went back to the counter to ask for the veggies, the lady behind the counter served me two pieces of dirty and rotten lettuce as a side. I said, I order the lettuce and tomatoes so that you put the lettuce and tomato in between the burger. She said we don’t do those. If you are too lazy to install your customer premade burgers, why bother even work at a pub.
3.0a year agoNice ambience and service was ok. We sat here for a game and a beer. But from the environmental point of view, we are disappointed by the lack of real glasses. Only plastic glasses and plastic cutlery. Disappointing for a university bar. UW ought to be more environmentally aware.
3.04 years agoI’ve been to The Sett a couple of times since I’ve been a student at UW, but until today, have only really tried their burgers (which are decent enough). I honestly wish I hadn’t decided to branch out and try their boneless chicken wings with garlic parmesan sauce, because it was one of the most bizarre eating experiences I’ve had. The wings have the consistency of tofu and taste like the most subpar popcorn chicken. Not only this, but the sauce weirdly tastes like cream of mushroom soup, and has the same thickness. I’ve had better experiences eating Rhetas buffet-style sushi at 4pm than this. Besides the aforementioned chicken incident, I don’t have too many complains. The staff are wonderful, food gets done in a reasonable time, and most of their other food is pretty on par with the rest of the university restaurants. Just whatever you do, don’t get the chicken.
3.06 years agoFirst time ordering here at Sett. Wasn't in the mood for a burger, so I went to try their new Buffalo Chicken Wrap. I'm glad to see they have a grilled option, as I cannot consume alcohol in any form (all their fried items are beer-battered). However, that does include their fries, hence why I got carrots and celery. The wrap itself was about decent. For some reason, I wasn't expecting a cold sandwich. As in, the sandwich came from the refrigerator to my plate. The fact that it took 15 minutes and it wasn't even hot is really interesting... It was alright, but I think I'll order a burger next time.
