My spouse and I had a great time dining-in at Muramoto yesterday evening! We managed to snag a table just before the dinner rush. Despite how busy things were, the staff were very level-headed and remained hardworking; s/o to our server Len for being so attentive and communicative around our meal :-) We spent $48 for two rolls, the teriyaki chicken plate, a mocktail, & dessert-- a reasonable price for an elevated restaurant. We left feeling very content with our experience and will continue to return here! I am so glad that they're getting more business and hope that they continue to flourish.

Things my friend and I said today at Muramoto: - “I have no words” - “100/10 experience” - “Life is worth living” - “Maybe we should stay here for grad school” - “Let’s kidnap whoever made the calamari” We’ve already graduated uni and just came back to visit our campus, but we’ve been coming to muramoto regularly since freshman year. The food and the service never disappoints. Would highly recommend to anyone!!🩵

So so good! This was my first time eating here, and I got to try so many different things, but the shrimp tempura stole the show. The staff were so kind and accommodating, too. The seating can be a bit tight if you're there with a lot of people, but ultimately it's a very lovely place to eat!

Some of the best sushi I've had in Madison, with a strong variety of other dishes. They don't offer omikase, but they do have enough on the menu that you can build a convincing facimile for yourself. The drinks, dessert, and other dishes we ordered were all delicious and creative. To get the fifth star on food I'd like to see real wasabi offered, at least upon request. They serve green horseradish and it's just not the same. We did ask and were told it wasn't available. Putting small amounts of the real stuff under some of the nigiri would also be a great touch. To get the fifth star on service I'd love to see a shift in how they course out the meal. We were slightly overwhelmed by the sheer number of plates on our table at times. Had they simply paced the plates out, it would have upgraded the experience. Over all great job, just a couple touches to take it up a notch.

Adventurous for us we decided to try sushi and it was really good. Muramoto is known for its excellent sushi and they didn't disappoint! We had the Maki Combo that has 3 different sushi rolls , chefs choice, but you can specify any ingredients you want left out or if you have any specific food allergies. A must have is the tempura appetizer though. Super delicious with a mild spiced mayo dip. Different veggies (Bell pepper strips, zucchini, carrots, cauliflower and asparagus) fried in a crispy tempura batter. Yummy. The Kimchi was good. We enjoyed the Edamame in salted shells (large serving for only $4) The Choya plum wine on the rocks is a winner too.
