Reviews from Google5.02 months agoWe had the most magical night last night at the Harvey House. By luck of the draw we were seated in the train car for dinner which isn’t a regular thing, but holy cow, it was like we were time traveling for this dinner experience. The service is impeccable and everyone around us was having the best time, so much in fact the table next to us bought us dessert shots and they shared their duck with us, probably the most Midwest thing I’ve ever been a part of. Nonetheless, that duck was top 5 things I’ve ever tried and that French onion soup touches your soul. Harvey House nails it on every detail. My mom LOVES the old dishes everything comes out on, like I said, time traveling dinner experience. I wish more places took this much pride in their craft because this is what it’s all about, enjoying the simple things of life, each other, and strangers. Kennedy and crew, thank you for an unforgettable evening in the train car ❤️❤️❤️
5.02 months agoThis was my first time dining at Harvey House in Madison and it was a true pleasure. From the moment I was seated, the warm candlelight and elegant atmosphere made me feel welcome. I started with a fantastic dirty martini, followed by a smooth Pinot Noir. Their special for the night, an incredibly tender cut of meat with vibrant sides, was outstanding. For dessert, I requested a chilled Montenegro, and even though it wasn’t on the menu, Paul, my amazing server, made it happen. Paul also went above and beyond, offering great speakeasy recommendations after dinner. Every detail of the experience, from the attentive service to the atmosphere, was flawless. I’ll be recommending Harvey House to everyone and will absolutely be back! An easy 10/10! Thank you for taking such good care of me.
5.03 months agoThe Harvey House is one of the best restaurants in Madison hands down. The food is top notch and the chef is creative presenting unique takes on traditional dishes. Service is on point. I won’t mention our servers name since Google now hurts businesses that have specific people mentioned which is ridiculous but please know our server was incredible.
5.04 months agoWhat an incredible place!!! I’d give 10 stars for the service if I could! Mark was our server and he was perfection! Great suggestions, attentive, but not annoying, personable, and did something no other server has ever done. I declined a second drink as I had to drive. He’d asked if I was local at the beginning of the meal so knew how far I had to drive home. He brought me the perfectly paired white wine to my meal-maybe 3-4 sips of a glass. The perfect amount to not put me over the edge, but still allow me the pleasure of enjoying wine with my meal. It was divine! The ambiance, decor, and food were divine! My friend and I split everything which drove the cost down, but was still the perfect amount. $100/each (including a fat tip for Mark) for cocktail, soup, salad, entree, an dessert is pretty stellar! Food: •French onion soup was unique yet divine! •Kale Caesar(not pictured) was perfection! •Chicken Kiev was juicy with a crunchy coating and the veggies were very flavorful, plus the plate was stunningly beautiful (we eat with our eyes first) •Parsnip Cake w cream cheese frosting-think carrot cake, but less sweet because of parsnips instead of carrots-perfect ending to an incredible meal Cannot recommend this place enough!
5.06 months agoIf you’re looking for a dinner spot in Madison where the vibes are on point and the food actually lives up to it—The Harvey House is it. The space is beautiful, the bar is stunning, and the whole place feels like a special-occasion kind of night (even if it’s just because you’re hungry). My dish was superb, but the French onion soup might be the best I’ve ever had. Instead of being super thick and heavy, it was rich, creamy, and loaded with Wisconsin cheese in the best way. Absolute must-order. If you’re planning a Madison trip or a nice dinner out, put this one high on your list.
