I was in Madison for a concert in search of some comfort food for my nephew, who just moved to the US from Okinawa. Even without a reservation and on the day of a large event - the hostess sat us immediately. The staff was fantastic and the food was delicious....and a young man who's been a little overwhelmed and homesick, left with a massive smile on his face and a little more pep in his step.

I enjoy Sequoia. I am compelled to leave a five star review to increase their 4.2 rating which I find really does not reflect the food or the experience there. I have been there maybe three times and ordered takeout there several times as well. Each time the food is great. I had good service. And the ambiance is good. It is on the more expensive side, but I strongly say it is worth it.

Made a reservation that morning, was seated right as we entered the restaurant. I felt it was reasonably priced for sushi! We started with Ginny April and the Ruby for drinks, which were fantastic, the Ruby was on the sweeter side while the gin had a nice fresh taste. For apps we had the spicy edamame and pork buns both of which were delicious. I felt like the spice added some nice chilli oil flavor to the edamame and was well done! For food we ordered the nama special, uptown funk, melaleuca, and spider roll. I was impressed by every roll. They were all bursting with flavor! With 2 drinks, 2 apps, 3 rolls of sushi, and a boat of sashimi and nigiri (which were thick cuts) our bill was $125! Thanks for a great night!

Had an amazing experience at Sequoia Madison! I ordered the pork bun, honey BBQ chicken wings, Sequoia ramen, and four sushi rolls and everything was 5 out of 5. The flavors were on point across the board and you can tell a lot of care goes into the food. Even though Zack was not there, the service was still excellent. Great food and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Such a beautiful spot! The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, and the food completely exceeded our expectations. I had the spicy miso ramen combo that came with your choice of appetizer, I got the steamed gyoza, and my husband tried the Sequoia Deluxe — both dishes were full of flavor, and the fish was so fresh. The presentation was gorgeous too! If you are sushi lovers I definitely recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back again soon.
