Really neat environment. It was welcoming and intimate despite being fairly large. There was plenty of seating and although noise carried moderately (it is a bar after all), it was easy enough to have a conversation. I appreciated the large amount of unique drinks and specialty mocktails. It’s always such a bummer to see only soda for N/A options, so this was a treat. It’s also cool that you can order sushi from Jacknife. We tried Dew My Honey (N/A) and Bonsoir Subaru. Definitely will try again!

I usually do not write reviews, especially because I have worked in hospitality for more than a decade and understand how stressful busy service can be. But this experience was unacceptable. My wife and friends visited recently, and while the cocktails were good, they left very disappointed by the service. My wife has Type 1 diabetes and politely asked the bartender, Junior (JR), what low-sugar cocktail options might be available. Instead of offering simple guidance, Junior seemed visibly annoyed, rolled his eyes, and opened his arms in frustration before saying something like, “Maybe vodka soda.” Junior was also rude throughout the rest of their service, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Someone asking a reasonable question related to a medical condition should never be made to feel like a burden. I later learned that Junior (JR) is one of the owners, which made the experience even more disappointing. The drinks were nice, but the service and attitude left such a bad impression that we will not be returning. Updated after the owner’s response: Thank you for your response. I just want to clarify that my wife never mentioned having Type 1 diabetes or said she could not have sugar. She simply asked about lower-sugar cocktail options. She did not have a chance to explain anything further because JR’s attitude was already rude and dismissive from the beginning. The issue was the attitude, not the vodka soda suggestion. We understand you cannot guarantee the sugar content of every cocktail. A simple, kind explanation would have been completely fine. We wish you and your team the best.

One year update: You must STILL come here!!! What an experience. I love creative drinks and eats, I do it as often as I can. I would say I have a refined palette from cooking and eating high end meals myself. The bar is gorgeous, the restrooms are clean and nice. The DRINKS! The quality of the liquor, the mixes, the garnishes. I can’t say enough good things. We came back to this bar twice because we couldn’t get enough. The drinks are strong so one was plenty for both us. We both ended up getting NA cocktails just so we could keep trying the drinks when we were out our limit for drinks. Please come and try. You should sit at the bar to see these drinks get created.

Went here in a party of three at six PM on a Friday night and had a great time. Parking wasn’t too rough for the area. The internal decor was very mid century modern meets seventies, and it was really nicely done. The bartenders were great, and you could tell they enjoyed their work. The cocktails were really interesting and well done, with a price tag that matched their complexity and execution.Definitely would go back.

Hands down one of the best bars I’ve visited in the US in 2025. I didn’t expect to find this in Madison of all places, but Public Parking served up some absolutely fantastic cocktails, that were creative, well balanced, and just the right amount of boozy - all with the feel of a local bar where you can actually get to know your bartender and, more importantly, they can get to know you. I don’t know what adventures might bring me back to Madison, but I know where I’ll be getting my cocktails when I’m there next.
