Sat at the bar, so I got to watch the kitchen staff. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I got some fish wrapped in a puff pastry. I don't even normally care for fish and I certainly don't order it at a restaurant but I was intrigued by it being in a puff pastry. Oh my, was it delicious! I thought about that fish for DAYS. And honestly it was so good that it far outshined everything else I ate. The scalloped potatoes (tarte tatin) were forgettable and maybe even a little undercooked. And the dessert was good (I think I had a chocolate cake?), but considering Bloom, I was expecting amazing. The French onion soup was very delicious and even the beets amuse-bouche was yum. The atmosphere was fantastic. All in all, it was a great experience, even though it wasn't a perfect experience (looking at you, potatoes).

We had 5:15pm reservations and sat at the bar for our anniversary dinner. We had some complimentary sparkling wine and an amuse bouche to start (they brought out an NA version for my husband since he doesn’t drink), the mushroom/chèvre galette, artichoke tapenade, French onion soup, duck, rabbit, beets, and chocolate cake. I also had the mezcal/chartreuse cocktail and the rye cocktail. Everything was phenomenal. One of the best meals I’ve had in Madison so far.

We had such an amazing meal and experience here! The staff, everyone from the moment we walked in until we left, was incredible. We had our sleepy toddler with us and they were still and really welcoming and family friendly. Our waitress was super helpful guiding us through the menu, and everything we ate was so delicious! The owner came by to chat with us and has such a beautiful story behind the restaurant, centered around a family feel. We absolutely loved it here, will definitely be back, and encourage everyone to try it!

Love love love everything we ordered tonight. We started with the mousse of foie and beet chèvre tart. I got the monkfish stew for my entree and it was phenomenal: deep seafood flavor and shrimp and fish were fresh. Our side was the charred carrots and that’s was a hit too! Overall I would definitely visit again! PS. if you sit at the bar near the door, please keep your jacket because it was freezing! Hopefully they can put a second door or something to minimize wind coming in.

Best restaurant in Madison! Exceptional quality, service and environment. You order the entire meal at the start and the pacing does not disappoint! Highly recommend a bar seat where you can see all the action in the kitchen. A bar seat bonus is that your bartender/server, Nina, is absolutely fantastic!
