I just stopped in to buy a few groceries and a plant for a friend. The plants outside were dying in the sun, many were blown over because they had no water to provide weight and were seriously wilted. I asked a woman in the floral center if she took care of the plants and she replied with an irritated mumble. I told her that the plants outside needed water and her reply was: "It's really hot out there and I don't want to feint". I told her that the plants were dying and she just ignored me. The proper response from her should have been "thank you for informing me, I'll get that taken care of". You'd think that you you'd want to protect your stock, I'm sure that your profit margins are already fairly thin. You wouldn't leave dairy products out in the aisle would you? A little professionalism goes a long way. Thank you. Sincerely, Robert Tocco

Ordered cupcakes for my son’s 1st birthday along with the smash cake. Was baseball theme. Smash cake turned out well but the cupcakes were awful! It looks like a glob of frosting thrown on top of the cupcake with the red strings that don’t even connect… looks like a child did it to be honest. Spent decent money for high disappointment. Talked to the manger about it in tears over the phone to be told he would charge me for a new order to be placed. If your customer is highly disappointed your first response is we will charge you for new ones… not a single apology or can you send a photo over… nothing. So going into his first birthday in tears when all I wanted was for everything to be perfect. I would advise against using them.

Four stars, trending up. I want to be upfront: I walked into Hy-Vee completely disoriented. I'm a Metro Market guy. Pick and Save. Stores where I know where the milk is without asking anyone. Hy-Vee humbled me. I was turned around, confused, and mildly annoyed for the first ten minutes, which is not a great start. But here's the thing... once it clicks, it actually makes sense. The layout isn't bad, it's just different, and different takes some adjustment when you've been shopping the same floor plan your whole life. What won me over is the selection. They've got items you're not going to find at your standard Madison grocery store, which I appreciate more than I expected to. And the prepared food section is genuinely impressive. Top two or three in the city, easily. That's not a small thing. I'm at four stars right now but this place is creeping up on five. Give me a few more visits to get my bearings and I might be a convert.

You would think they would make a display reflect the correct pricing. Bad enough prices are ridiculous. These new price displays are a joke. I have seen them reflect a red back ground and advertising like the item is on sale, but with the same regular price especially in the soda isle. Their meat selection way over price. Just watch and learn for yourself. Check my photos pictures don't lie. To all the Hyvee owner and executives, managers, and any shoppers. If you're not paying attention you better thank the Democratic elected Governor for Wisconsin releasing EBT benefits, because that president was about to rob you of the income generated from EBT purchases. Bet whomever working for your company or anyone for that matter didn't think about that when they voted for him.

We came here primarily for the floral department, which is expansive with a broad selection. Do not come here for the lowest floral prices; however, they did a really great and expedient job of arranging a cut bouquet for our baby elephant planter (shown). It's only money.
