We recently hosted a 30-ppl large student org event here and had a fantastic experience! A special thank you to the owner, who was incredible to work with and made coordinating our large venue booking completely seamless. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the venue itself has a wonderful layout that works perfectly for group social events. The staff are truly exceptional as well. They were efficient, attentive, and handled our large crowd with ease. Highly recommend Haven for anyone looking to host an event :]

First time visit to this place and the food was superb. We ordered cajun fries, veggie dumplings and stir noodles entree (veggie) and all three dishes were delicious. Service is top notch and vibe of this place is awesome.

I enjoyed my first visit to Haven quite a bit. I read about their unique offering, naengmyeon, or cold noodle soup, in a Capital Times piece and subsequently saw they had binfeng (ice jelly) on the menu. Intrigued, I waited for a hottish day to enjoy these summertime treats. I thank the owner for taking the risk of putting these on the menu and expanding the diversity of Madison's food scene. I am on a mission to reward that kind of uniqueness. SETTING The nondescript building has all the charm of the hidden gem hole-in-the-wall that only YOU know about, and I mean that it the best possible way. The interior is cozy though -- the owners did a good job of creating the karaoke bar atmosphere they're going for. Seating is a tad limited downstairs, and there are both chairs and booths available if you have a preference. SERVICE Unfortunately, the service we received was indifferent. Competent, but unexceptional. We weren't asked how the food was tasting, but we hardly noticed this omission at the time given how focused we were on scarfing up the food. We had to request that someone refill our glasses of water as well - a minor quibble. Training the staff to be more welcoming, more engaging, etc., might be one way for this restaurant to improve. FOOD On paper, I was a little uncertain about the naengmyeon. Cold soup? Apples with tomatoes? The tomatoes and kimchi appear to be unique additions to the standard version, and I think the apples are substituting for the more traditional Korean pear. After one taste, however, I "got it." It's a wonderful balance of sweet, acid, and savory. Slurping up the noodles unashamedly is bliss. My only wish was for more fatty beef to offset the other elements. I could eat this stuff every day, though. I'd be interested to try it served as in Korea, with the broth chilled to a slushy consistency. The binfeng also exceeded expectations. Really love this place! The stir-fried yellow beef was so good — super tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. We also tried the braised pork noodles and the beef noodles — both were delicious with rich, flavorful broth. Even the vegetables were fresh and really well cooked. The service was great and the staff were really nice. The overall vibe was cozy and chill. Definitely coming back!

Had THE best time hosting our holiday party here. We rented the karaoke for 3 hours of food, cocktails, and so much laughter. The specialty cocktails were top notch, I feel like we ordered one of everything on the menu. Food was delicious, with huge portions. The staff was friendly, attentive and kept us well tended to. Thank you all for a memorable party, we will recommend you highly to all our clients!
