Man, this bar has burned me for the last time... Wanted to celebrate my defense here, but the bar hours listed are COMPLETELY wrong!! It says open at 3... Well I rolled up at 4:15, bar is 100% locked. Had to wander somewhere else, disrupting the whole afternoon. Apparently it was open by 5, two hours after Google maps says they open on a Friday... Be so for real: I do not care when you're open, just make your hours accurate. This used to be a reliable place for grad students to grab a happy hour drink.

After months battlin’ monstrous waves and outrunnin’ the devil’s own storms, I steered me mighty ship into the harbor of Madison, seekin’ refuge… and perhaps a bite that wouldn’t bite back😏. That’s when I heard whispers on the wind of a place called “City Bar” offerin’ oysters for a mere dollar each. A trick, I thought. Or sorcery! But by the beard of Neptune, it was no lie. I staggered in, sea-worn and salt-crusted, and what did I find? A bounty of glistening oysters laid out like pearls from a mermaid’s hoard. Each one fresh as the morning tide, briny and bold, slippin’ down the hatch smoother than a calm sea at sunrise. I devoured ‘em by the dozen, like a man who’d not seen shore in years. My belly was blundered with beer and oysters! The crew behind the bar? A lively bunch, quick with a pour. They showed no haste as I slobbered down about 50! Now this right here… this is the treasure I’ve been searching for!

God this place is good. Flown in fresh, taste great, these oysters were mongered all right. Only complaint is that they ran out! Tuesday Oysters at city are a go to for me and my friends.

City Bar! A true Madison classic. Extremely friendly bartenders and staff. Delicious oysters. Dare I say unbelievable shellfish? Yes I do.

The Dollar Oysters deal is fantastic. 10/10 would recommend going for the Oyster special. I think that I ate a dozen! The bouncer Prestan was a nice man as well.
