We had never actually tried Stellie's Ice Cream until we decided to order some for our housewarming party recently. Stella is such a pleasure to work with and her ice cream is on par with the best Madison has to offer. Stellie's offers a cooler drop off service for parties that keeps the ice cream frozen for hours. They come packaged in small containers like in elementary school, wooden spoon and all. The unique flavors were such a hit people were taking the extra ice cream home with them to eat later. We will definitely keep her in mind for future occasions and make a point to actually go to her shop to enjoy her delicious creations this summer!

Was looking for a sweet treat on the north side of Madison, and found it at Stellie's! Location is right by the Yahara River, perfect for grabbing some ice cream and taking a stroll! Interesting and delicious flavors, and you can get 2 in a small, will definitely be back!

I have had ice cream here twice now and won't be back a third. The texture of the ice cream was nice, but for vanilla-based flavors, all you get is vanilla. We had a scoop of PB cookie dough that didn't have a single piece of anything in it. It was literally just vanilla. The other two vanilla based flavors weren't AS bad with the lack of mixins but again, were under flavored in general and didn't have enough mixins either. If you want flavor, go with something that doesn't have the vanilla base. If you like chunks in your ice cream or ribbons of something, this is not your place. This latest time I went, they had many empty slots in their freezer - not many options to try. But in general, all 4 flavors I've tried here have been underwhelming.

I really was excited about trying this place as I always try to support new smaller businesses whenever I can . The design , colors and packaging is all in good taste and almost cute . Flavors upon reading the labels actually sound very interesting. Unfortunately it ends there . Unless I was mistaken about what I was getting , the quality and flavors fell short . Particularly the quality is low . This did not even taste like ice cream , almost as though it was missing a binder or cream or fat . The consistency was crumbling , icy particles and unpleasant texture in the mouth . The flavor (at least for what I got the mocha espresso) was almost non existent. I am not an expert with ice cream production but this was like an icicle non-fat ultra frozen whatever . Very disappointing as I wanted this to be exciting . Considering the competition around town with extraordinary offerings the bar is very high. I hope this is just a situation of failed ultra- frozen product that has experienced freezer burn . Sadly I see other reviews are stating the exact same issues .

I'm obsessed with Stellie's Ice Cream! This amazing small, woman-owned shop in downtown Madison is everything you want in a local treat spot. Their peanut butter cookie dough is my go-to!! I love that they’re open late (currently 10:00) making it the perfect stop for nighttime ice cream cravings or for after dinner treats. The space is clean, welcoming, and they offer metal tasting spoons so you can sample flavors! Plus, they serve their scoops in Tossware cups, which are both adorable and eco-friendly, which is perfect for photos in this trendy ice cream shop. Since this is a new storefront, sometimes they are out of some flavors, which is AWESOME for them (congrats on being so busy, Stellie's!!)! As someone who has opened a food/drink business, it's so hard to know how much of a product you need and the only way to know is through learning how busy you'll be! Typically, they have 8 flavors and I enjoy each of them!
