I chose this place because it is listed as the oldest restaurant in Madison, I don't know how true that is but when I explore a new city I like to seek out the oldest restaurant. This place was super cool, the vibe is totally a dive bar during the day but apparently it gets crazy during college sports and is full of young people. When I was there it was just some regular middle-aged people in the middle of the day having a burger. Speaking of having a burger there you have to try the plaza burger. I will say I was not impressed at how it looked when presented in front of me but it was oddly delightful and I am glad I stopped by.

It was a long, time ago; 53 years have gone by. Plaza Lanes is still there, in Madison; right where it’s always been, where it always will be apparently since it’s made it this long. The Plaza Burgers were perfect, I’m thinking it was all perfect. There wasn’t a lot of service, and that was just perfect. Road trip!!

I love getting to eat at Plaza when I visit Madison! My family has been coming here for decades - you must try to the Plaza cheeseburger with the famous Plaza sauce! Delicious!

Best dive bar burger in Madison. Their house made famous plaza sauce is a delicious addition to their burgers. Also a great place for pitchers of beer and to play darts, pool or bubble hockey. They also have nightly drink specials that can be a really good deal if you take advantage of them. The staff is amazing and will make your Plaza experience great.
