I can’t say enough. Very nice atmosphere: artsy, welcoming, lived-in, but clean and warm. They make their espresso drinks expertly: by hand. They do not press a button like other shops. They grind, tamp, and brew. The cafe is well-staffed, the friendly baristas are actual baristas, and my latte was exceptional. I went here three times in 1.5 days and if I lived in Madison, I’d be there nonstop. Pastries were good. Location is fantastic, and I nearly cried missing my own barista days. It’s all the things I love about cafes.

Super friendly, kind coffee shop they were so sweet to give a pup cup to my dog. Glad I found this lil gem. The pastries looked amazing and lots of space to work or study at!

This is a lovely spot for a tasty beverage. While I've had their teas and specially coffees on past visits, today I simply ordered and iced coffee. It was satisfyingly smooth with a robust flavor and no bitter bite. I appreciate the quiet back room, friendly staff, and the tempting selection of baked treats when I feel like being naughty - with the treats, not the back room or staff, get your mind out of the gutter. My only complaint is that they are not open before 8am during the week. I'd stop in before heading to work if they were.

Michelangelo’s is great any time of day, any day of the week! A summer Saturday morning for an iced coffee during the farmers market, or a cold winter evening for specialty latte and a good book; it’s comfortable, cozy, welcoming, and delicious. There is always a fun drink to try.
