Reviews from Google4.0a month agoThe street corn omelette was good, and the veg was appreciated. The chilaquiles were just okay. Now, I live in Chicago and have had extremely great and authentic chilaquiles. So I am probably biased. There was nothing wrong with them. I just found them to be mediocre. The raspberry green teas were nice and refreshing.
5.02 months agoComing into Marigold Kitchen, the atmosphere is very cafe-adjacent. It has a welcoming feel to it with some beautiful, sunny art on the walls. If it wasn't for the short line in front of us, we may not have noticed that you order at the counter prior to finding a seat, but at least there were enough seats available for when we did order! The wait was pretty short, too, maybe about 5 minutes. We arrived a bit after 9 AM on a Monday, if that helps with how busy the place is (and it was busy). I had ordered the French Toast and my wife ordered the Chilaquiles, which was a chicken and egg dish with a bit of a kick that was delightful. I also had some scrambled eggs on the side. The food was good! It may not have been exactly what I prefer, but I get the appeal. I was full by the end and satisfied with the experience. It was a visual feast when we first got it and tasted remarkably good. My wife loved her dish, too! It was a good experience overall! I would certainly recommend trying this place out for breakfast. The atmosphere is lovely, even when it's a tad loud in the building, but we were still able to have an easy conversation. And the service along with the food we're both great!
5.02 months agoGreat spot for a tasty meal. We got Chipotle chicken quesadilla and two orders of chilaquiles. All were delicious. It was packed but the wait was short and worth it. You order first and then get seated but I think that's how they prevent people from grabbing tables without checking in. We sat outside which was great. We'll definitely come back here.
5.03 months agoMarigolds was a great breakfast / brunch place. It was a beautiful day in Madison so I appreciated they had outdoor seating. Their outdoor setup is very quaint. It was nice sitting outside with one of their lattes and to feel the sun and breeze. I went indoors for a moment and it’s beautifully decorated. But it would have been slightly cramped quarters for my taste. The lattes were high quality. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte and my date got the churro latte. We both liked the ones we chose. Hers was more subtle, while mine was sweeter and had some “flakes” on top which provides a slight texture of cereal. The food was all delicious. I got the huevos rancheros with chorizos and my date got eggs, potatoes, and toast. The huevos rancheros were flavorful and the egg on top was perfectly cooked. My only critique is on their service. Their service model is set up a lot like Panera. Inside, you order at a counter, are given a numbered flag, then your food is delivered to your table. Outside they do a more traditional table service. It is kind of weird because you pay for your food and service right when you order rather than at the end of your meal. The hybrid service model does not work for me, so I took a star off. Overall, the service was friendly and the food came out fast. If you are passing through Madison in the morning or afternoon, then this is a great option. You won’t be disappointed.
5.04 months agoA Bustling Brunch Favorite in Madison A lively bustling ambiance and often crowded, so expect some noise during busy hours, but the interior design is stylish and modern. The service was amazing—friendly, attentive, and efficient even with the crowd. The food is simple, comforting, and delicious, focusing on classic brunch favorites done right. The pancakes were especially yummy, with a perfect portion size that leaves you satisfied without feeling overly heavy. The orange juice tasted fresh and classic. Must-try is the CHILAQUILES, packed with flavor. It’s also worth checking out their brunch specials, which can offer some unique and seasonal options. The restaurant has outdoor seating available, making it a nice spot during good weather. The restrooms are clean, and the entrance faces northeast. Overall, Marigold Kitchen is a great brunch destination in Madison for anyone looking for flavorful breakfast dishes. I definitely recommend this place and I will return in future.
