This would not be a four star restaurant in Paris or New York, but it is a four star restaurant in a motel in Madison, Wisconsin. I had the sirloin twice during a three-day stay in the motel and found it miles ahead of one I had at a popular bar not far away. I carefully described how I wanted it cooked, and it came just that way on each of the two nights. The mashed potato side is delicious and should not be eaten by anyone! This is not a fancy restaurant, but is quiet and pleasant. Eating outside on the patio is also enjoyable. Since we live close by, we will be coming back regularly for the excellent food at surprisingly good prices. Edit: We did go back again last night and I and my son both had the steak. Strangely, it was a lot thinner than before. Maybe 5/8 of an inch instead of 1 inch! It was still cooked correctly, but was no longer exceptional. My wife again had the spring rolls and she indicated they were not cooked as well as before. Also, I should add since people are reviewing it, that the breakfast for motel guests is no big deal. It is a run-of-the-mill motel hot-table breakfast comprising scrambled eggs, probably from powdered, and those little sausages instead of the bacon that the best places have, etc. So only four stars, but still a nice, modest place we will return to.

Sat at the bar and was ignored for 10 minutes. Finally I order a strip steak and Stella. Immediately I noticed the bartender did not ask how I want the steak cooked or sides. The. I ask if we can watch the NBA playoffs. Wow, amazingly unhelpful. First he says he does not know how to use the remote! Then after I say “I can use it”. Suddenly he knows how but does not know what channel. I say it’s on ESPN. He says he can’t find it. He insisted offers me soccer. I say forget it. Go across the street to the Blue Moon. Had the best/friendly server and an excellent burger. Oh and the bar was happy to put the playoffs on. Madison has amazing restaurants with great bartenders and servers. Unfortunately this is not one of them

Food was mediocre at best. Not the worst steak I had but it filled a hole. Service was good salad bar left ALOT to be desired!

We were given a five star experience. The food was impeccable perfectly presented and seriously good. We were well attended by a professional waitstaff. The hotel is in the middle of a remodel but once inside the restaurant we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Exceptionally good food. I was pleasantly surprised for a restaurant attached to a hotel. I stayed at the hotel for a couple of weeks and ate there every night but one. Everything I tried was very good. One of their servers, Emanuel, is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Friendly and with a great personality. I always ate by myself and our chats always made me feel less alone.
