This place is well loved. Others in Madison love it more than I do, but I can find no fault with it. Its patio is great. I hear on the occasions the upstairs is open, it is a treasure

Genna's is great! Went there on a very busy weekend night, and the bartenders were ON IT. They were so friendly and very speedy. Howard was especially cool and accommodating to our group. WE LOVE HIM.

I was ignored by the bar tender. I waited until there was a break because it was very busy. When I went to the bar I made eye contact and he proceeded to sip a beer and follow his coworker around to chat her up. He did not come over until I lifted my glass and tapped it. (which made me feel rude I would usually never do that but it had been a whole song) and then he finally put his beer down and unfriendly asked ‘what do you want’. I get having a bad day but my sister had no problem getting a drink when the bar was busier and he was very kind to her. So service depends on if they see you as worthy or not. If you were bullied growing up or obviously autistic I would recommend going elsewhere. So weird it was almost funny

The best Neighbourhood bar in Madison and upstairs and a great vibe decent drink prices and the best bartenders in town right off the Square you can’t beat it

Genna’s is an iconic Madison bar! The patio is excellent in the summer to take in some sun and the view of the capital square. Service has remained amazing over the years and the bartenders truly make you feel at home. Stop by on the weekends for the best Bloody Mary ever!!
