I am a long time fan and lover of Sabor de Puebla. One of my favorite restaurants in madison. especially love the mole burrito. I will definetly keep coming back.. One small warning I do not reccomend the tortillitas de camaron they are truly very very bad and it kinda shocks me they are on the menu when everything else is so delicious

Went here for cinco de mayo after googling for deals in Madison, the AI said they had 1$ tacos, they were not that's on me for trusting AI. But that's besides the point. I pulled in and wife was like is this it? No signage, just stuff taped up in the door. We went in because I like food adventures and asked if they had a special, just taco Tuesday tacos are $1.99 instead of $3.50. First nothing notates they are street style tacos on the menu. The shells were terrible for what's supposed to be a authentic family owned place. And expecting regular tacos they brought us tiny street tacos. We got some asada and chicken. The beef was lacking flavor and dry and overcooked. Chicken was shredded and better but I would never go back. Feel like I waisted time and money. Once served no one ever came back to check on us, not once. I believe the only thing keeping them open is students from the near by school. They make students do take out only, and they had combos you can get but only if you're a student.

We ordered from El Sabor de Puebla three days in a row and unfortunately the experience was noticeably different each time. The food itself was decent on some days and just okay on others, it lacked the consistency you expect at a restaurant. We also ran into issues with pricing. Even though there are daily discounts, the totals varied every day and none of them matched the prices listed on the board. It wasn’t clear what was included with each order, which made it feel like the final amount was being decided on the spot rather than following a set menu. A little more transparency with pricing and portions would go a long way. The staff was friendly enough, and the food has potential, but the inconsistency in both quality and pricing keeps us from being more enthusiastic. We’ll probably give them another try down the road, but for now it’s hit or miss.

The food here is prepared with love and always amazing. I had the Enmoladas, and my husband had a steak Tlacoyo, a pork tamale and a chicken tamale, and two sopes. The mole sauce is amazing. We also got guacamole which was on point. Definitely a lovely little place you need to try!

Scrumptious authentic Mexican food for an unbeatable price. This place is a MUST try in the Madison area. It is a super tiny restaurant with very limited seating (about 10 booths/tables) so if it's a busy time you will have trouble dining in. However, they have a highly effective take-out system which is what the majority of their orders are. When eating in you'll be presented with complimentary chips and salsa. Their salsa is extremely flavorful and has a great spice level. We ordered the highly rated Chicken Tamales and El Pastor Burrito with Mole- both definitely lived up to the hype. In addition, their rice and beans are so much better than any other place I've tried. The prices are unmatched and the serving sizes are perfect to leave the restaurant feeling satiated. The service is great, just be patient when the restaurant gets busy. They have a very limited staff. When you're ready to pay you can walk up to the register. The parking lot is small but there is street parking in the nearby residential area.
