Reviews from Google4.03 months agoA nice local Italian restaurant that was a great find. The owner personally prepares the food and even comes out to greet guests, which gives the place a warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try the lasagna made from the owner’s grandmother’s recipe, which is one of their signature dishes. However, the meal I had was enjoyable, and the restaurant felt authentic and welcoming. If you’re looking for a cozy neighborhood Italian spot with a personal touch, this is definitely worth a visit.
5.03 months agoMy family and I went for lunch during the week and had an amazing experience! The food was delicious and fresh and the presentation was beautiful. We sat outside on their patio and it was perfect. The chicken parmesean and chicken milanese sandwiches were crispy and flavorful and came with the most amazing truffle fries. We also had their pizzas which were the perfect size and super tasty. Also had their special which was a swordfish pasta and it was so unique and delicious. Loved that the chef/owner came out to bring us our food and chat with us. Also, I'm not normally a cannoli person but their's are so amazing--perfect texture and the filling is super creamy and satisfying. Would recommend this place 1000 times over for lunch or dinner, we had great service and our server was constantly checking in on us and making sure our food was good and we had everything we needed. Their menu prices were super fair for the quality of food and we absolutely loved everything we ordered. Will definitely be back!
5.05 months agoWe had a great time. Came in without a reservation and were seated at the bar, where service was amazing. Every little detail is paid attention to in this place. The food was perfect and the wine paired lovely with our dishes. Highly recommend for your next night out, or even a solo meal.
5.06 months agoThis place is absolutely DELECTABLE and my biggest question is why is this place not MOBBED for brunch?!?!? First visit for my husband and me today, but we were meeting friends who have visited a lot for dinner (though this was their first time for brunch). We were seated at a cozy four-top table with nice lighting and separation from the other tables surrounding us--felt very private and intimate. All four of us chose to order the prix fixe menu, which included a brunch cocktail, appetizer (to share for two people), an entree, and a dessert (to share for two people). Please see my pictures--the two "appetizers to share" (mussels and a Pizza Di Patate) photos are missing because I forgot to snap them since we were all so excited about the food! Every dish was better than the last and the flavors were very sophisticated. There was a LOT of food (excellent value!) and I was wishing my stomach was bigger because I definitely could have kept eating! Our server Michele G was friendly and paced every course very well, plus the chef himself stopped by our table twice to see how we were faring--very sweet man and soooooo talented in the kitchen! They also have a Sunday supper (info on their website) that we'd be interested in trying sometime, plus my husband and I will 100% be back for a romantic date night dinner. Don't hesitate to get over to this lovely, scrumptious restaurant as soon as you can!!!
1.010 months agoMy wife and I were really excited to try a new place that we have never been. But, let me start by saying our server was friendly and clearly trying his best, but it was obvious he was very inexperienced and didn’t know much about the menu. Unfortunately, that set the tone for what turned out to be one of the most frustrating dining experiences we’ve had in Madison. We were seated right by the front door — every time it opened, we froze. It took forever just to get water, and when I asked for ice, it never showed up. Drinks took 20+ minutes from the bar, and the salads and appetizer they were both mediocre at best. We had to ask for bread (which ended up being the best part). When our meals finally came, two of the four meals were barely room temperature. When the plates were reheated and brought back, I noticed they took my silverware. I requested a new set and it took what felt like 15 mins but was probably only 5 mins but we still had to ask multiple times and the food was warm.....not hot by any means, and I was done and hit the wall. By the end, we didn't think we would have any issues with the dessert course, but of course the cannoli's came to the table and they were stale & soft and lacked flavor. Overall, it was a really disappointing and awkward experience. With so many great dining options in Madison, I’d recommend looking elsewhere until D’Vino seriously improves both its service and kitchen execution.
