Only giving them one star because last night the owner was rude as hell to her employee infront of us to the point we felt the need to speak up for them and in return we got kicked out of the bar, although we had brought in a group of 8 and had only been there for 40ish minutes before she kicked us out. We all work in food service and know how to treat a guest and also how an employee should be treated and this owner was not deserving of our business for the way she treated her employee

Steve’s Conundrum with homemade chips are my go-to. Been hitting up Argus since the 90s when I lived nearby behind the Y. Servers/tenders always super-cool to chat with and it’s safe to say I prolly did some of my fave bits there in the basement at open mics. A great bar with an even better menu! ~MOMic

A nice spot with good food and a friendly, hard working staff. Downtown Madison has a lot of choices, but Argus has always been consistently good. Keep up the great work!

Stopped in at Argus for Great Taste eve. The big beers were extremely overpriced even for what they were serving – dark lord, variants. I’m sure they are just making their margin on what three Floyd charge them but maybe it’s time to reassess. The beers seemed much more reasonably priced. What I like about Argus is it has a nice pub atmosphere and great rock music. I knew I was in a place that I would like when flight of Icarus by iron maiden was playing as I walked in boom. Did not eat.
